Here are a few guidelines that keep life going smoothly. Thanks for your support and understanding!
Reschedule Without Penalty If You Meet Any of The Following Conditions Reschedule by emailing or text 510-604-2005.
You were sick, and have been recovered for less than 10 days (cold, flu, & covid).
Colds & flu: no symptoms for 10 days.
Covid: for 10 days prior to your massage, no symptoms and no positive tests.
You have been sick, and less than 14 days has passed from symptom onset.
You have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with covid in the past 14 days.
You have a fever or cold symptoms.
If you wait until you are on the massage table to say that you recently had covid and tested negative less than 10 days ago, your massage will be stopped and full payment for the booked time will be due.
Why? Massage is not casual contact. It’s fairly common to rebound after a negative covid test. It’s also fairly common to get false negatives on covid tests, so flus and colds are lumped into the covid policy. My own immune system is sluggish, so other’s small colds can mean weeks out of work for me.
Appointment Cancellations and Changes You may cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours’ notice. Full payment is due for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, and for no shows or missed appointments. If you are sick, or having an emergency, I will waive this policy - just contact me before your appointment start time to let me know. If there’s more than 24 hours before your appointment, you can cancel and reschedule online: Log in, go to Appointments> Upcoming Appointments. Select Cancel or Reschedule. If it's less than 24 hours before your appointment (or if you have issues), email or text 510-604-2005.
Face Masks are no longer required for clients. If you’d like to wear one, you are welcome to. If you don’t want to wear one, that’s also ok. FYI, I am fully vaccinated, and will also be wearing a face mask.
Running Late If you are unexpectedly running a few minutes late for an appointment, text 510-604-2005. Arriving late for a service will require shortening the length of the treatment. Full payment will be due, for the entire time you booked.
Arrive About 5 Minutes Before Your Appointment Time Arriving about 5 minutes prior to your session allows me to have the studio ready for your massage.
Fly Solo Please do not bring pets, children, spouses, or other people to your appointment. If a parent or guardian needs to accompany a minor, or an attendant needs to accompany a client with a disability, that's fine.
Ventilation In summer, if you prefer outdoor air, you can choose to leave the door and windows open- just ask. In winter, or if you get cold easily, we'll close the windows and door and rely instead on the indoor air filters. The air filters are capable of filtering the air in the space 12 times an hour, the same safety standard that new hospital construction must meet. The filters are specifically selected to remove particles as small as viruses, as well as wildfire smoke.
Leave Jewelry At Home You'll need to remove necklaces for your massage, and massage clients often leave jewelry behind. Please leave it at home, or tuck it away in your bag or clothes, before your session.
Refrain From Heavy Perfumes I’m scent sensitive, and massage requires very close contact. Thanks for not wearing perfume to the massage studio.
This is Therapeutic Massage Massage services are non-sensual in nature. Sexual advances, suggestive tone, or exploratory dog whistles will result in immediate termination of session. Payment is due for the full time booked.
Discounts Only one discount per session, please.
Privacy Your privacy is important to us! Details of our work together are confidential, and we comply with HIPPA privacy standards. Exceptions include legal obligations like subpoenas, ethical obligations, as in cases of clear or imminent danger to a client or another individual. In the event that your massage therapist tests positive for Covid, your contact information may be released to contact tracers.
